Artist Statement

​

Alice Anne applies classic art studies with mixed media and a sprinkle of psychology. As a narrative mixed media artist, her art can be seen as an allegory of awakening, a transformative quality with the elements of nature. ​

Central to her work is a visual narrative which draws from an imaginative landscape. This narrative style draws its source from childhood memories and the interplay of stories and symbolism from picture books. 

 

Her story lines of people and nature embrace an imaginary world inspired from a memory, word or image. The symbolic images explore intimate themes which often result in surreal representations. These inspirations draw from her paintings or from personal or found photographs. 

 

Through her visual and emotional landscapes, she invites playfulness and spontaneity for the viewer to create their own memoirs.
